You can be the next “Get Discovered” contest winner!
Congratulations to the newest winner of Booksy’s Get Discovered Backstage contest: award-winning barber Hamza Zaid, better known as @doseofhamzo, to his thousands of Instagram followers! Earlier this year, Booksy, the leader in booking and business technology for the beauty industry, partnered with Idle Hand Collective, a group of traveling barbers and hairstylists who provide complimentary haircuts to top performers and artists at music festivals around the world. Together, Booksy and Idle Hand Collective joined forces to give beauty pros the incredible once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to style some of the country’s most famous musicians backstage at top music festivals.
Many incredibly talented beauty pros competed to showcase their talent at Riot Fest in Chicago from September 16th-18th, but Hamza’s fresh, chiseled cuts and raving five-star reviews pushed him into the winner’s circle

Hamza Zaid is an award-winning barber based out of Chicago. From a young age, Hamza began developing his elite barbering skills by using the blade on himself and eventually his friends. After spending a short time in college studying criminal justice, he soon realized that becoming a barber was the career he wanted to pursue. Hamza is no stranger to Booksy awards as back in 2021, he was awarded the Best of Booksy Award for the Most Buzz. Hamza has expressed his excitement to be able to showcase his talents and work alongside Booksy Ambassadors and fellow barbers, A-ROD and Mr. Official, who will be doing content creation. In the past, Hamza has worked at Mr. Official’s shop, and now they’ll be working together again, but this time backstage on a noted celebrity musician!

Booksy providers must meet three eligibility requirements:
- Must have an active Booksy account
- Must have at least 10 reviews on your profile
- Must have cumulative profile review rating of at least a 4.8 or above
Winners will be notified of their win three weeks before the music festival they want to attend. Each winner will also be able to take advantage of an exclusive one-on-one educational opportunity by learning and asking questions about the celebrity styling industry.
